When I tell people I am in formation to be a Third Order Dominican, many ask me, “Are you becoming a nun?”
I am a married woman, so no; I am not entering the Dominican order as a cloistered nun.
At first, I myself struggled to answer the question they were really posing: “What does that mean?” Now I can answer.
I am in formation to enter the Dominican Order as a Lay person. In this, I am living out my spiritual journey under the charism of St. Dominic. It is a life of prayer, a life of learning and then sharing the fruits of these with others. It is really that simple. The most beautiful things in life are simple.
